yes, we don't support powerpc CPUs anymore, there too old and it would only be for 1 or 2 people.
Do you not have access to an intel CPU machine ?
You could try to run octane on a PowerPC which emulates an intel CPU as octane does'nt need a lot of CPU power, but i cannot make any promises...

Win 7 x64 & ubuntu | 2x GTX480 | Quad 2.66GHz | 8GB
any modern linux kernel wiht official drivers from the tutorial video should work fine. (must be an intel CPU or running under emulation if it's a powerpc)
Although i think it will run really slow, even drawing the user interface and it will definately be difficult to share a PCI-E slot under emulation.
although i don't think there are stil powerpc machines left that can take a PCI-E GPU card powerfull (but correct me if i'm wrong)enough for octane render...
The linux on a PC or Apple computer, with Linux (modern distro or, windows 7 x64 (best for octane) on an apple computer.
Please don't make posts about hackintoshes on our forums, we're a business and we can we and/or you can get into issues with apple about this. I'd recommend getting a clone PC and adding a decent GPU like a GTX460 2GB or 470/480 with win7 x64, it will give you a very smooth octane experience
