Just something pretty simple. Noobish tests with lighting and glossy material. I made the lamp in maya for the test.

More lighting tests. I let it bake for 2500 samples using path tracing.
It's kind of interesting the effects you get with just a bunch of mesh lights and total darkness.
The globe is just a standard specular with spec cranked all the way up. The table top is glossy with a little bit of roughness. The skull is a glossy with white in the diffuse, 98% opaque and 10% glossy. I was hoping for a little bit of sheen on it and some translucency but it just looks washed out from the lights.

One thing I'm not clear on is why there are so many fireflies.
