Second vid is the IRAY VGA which is current hardware, but yes, Pascal sounds extremely promising!

Imagine how much faster those Honda renderings would have been if they were using Octane instead of iRay. :D

Actually, when I first saw the VCA during the livestream, I immediately though "I wonder if they would work with Octane instead". Then they revealed the price of $50,000 and I realized it didn't matter what it was compatible with...

To be fair, it was most likely the massive amount of geometry that was slowing it down. It's the fully fledged CAD model so everything including the engine and nuts and bolts :) I think Octane would behave similarly.
