Hi, so I'm fairly new to Octane, having been using Lumion for a while now. Im having some problems with the LiveDB and the displaying of materials. When I look at the material preview it looks great, but when I connect it to the model it just displays as a textureless color. Having talked to Radient on his videos, he mentioned UV wrapping the 3d model. However, I just cant figure it out. Its an architectural model built in sketchup, then opened in 3ds and exported to octane. I've tried UV mapping in 3ds but it doesn't seem to affect the outcome despite me following various tutorials on UV mapping. Where am I going wrong?

Thanks for your help

You can determine if your UV's are getting through by using the "texture co-ordinates" mode of the deep channel kernel.
http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Standalone/?page_id=289

Texture co-ordinates will be colored green along one axis and red along the other (I can't remember off the top of my head which one is which but it's not hugely important). So this is from black (0,0) through to yellow at (1,1). If all you see is black when you use this kernel mode (and you know you are looking at geometry that should be mapped) then the UV's are missing and not getting through. You will need to look at export settings etc.

Thanks
Chris.
