On Wednesday 5th march McNeel released SR8 - will it hurt anything if we update? or should we wait until there is an Octane build against it?
p.s. http://www.rhino3d.com/download/rhino/5.0/latest
From memory there is a few little bug fixes & additions which relate to Octane plugin specifically within SR8?
Edit:
-Material changes not picked up by viewport
-new colour picker - or perhaps this was actually Rhino6?
-Saving octane materials from scene
SR8 - can we install yet?

You should be able to run the current plugin build with Rhino SR8 (I'm downloading it right now). And yes - there are a couple of fixes - you should now be able to save Octane Materials as RMTL, and hopefully SR* will enable the plugin to detect when you drag a new material only a Live geometry item. The new color picker is in the latest version of the plugin.
