Hi,

I just thought I'd share a video with you showing the new HDR Light Studio lighting plugin for LightWave in action with Octane Render. The cool thing is you can paint your lights directly in the Octane Live view port. Wow, Octane is fast, I'm super impressed! See what you think :-)

A big thanks to juanjgon for his help on the plug-in.... it worked out great!

Regards
Mark

Relly cool, I'm getting this. How do I remove it from the scene ? I deleted the environmet plugin entry but still Octane does not react to environment inputs to render target. I was trying out the demo and now I can't get it out of the scene. I will get the full version next week but until then I need to clear it since demo can't save.

Looks great. I've been trying it out in conjuction with an actual HDR image background. If I get a good look with an HDR and then use that image with HDR Lighting Studio, I can't get it to look anywhere near as good as with just Octane. Need to play more, but if anyone is using it for this, I would n't mind some pointers.

Hi gordonrobb... I'd like to help but don't quite understand the problem you have yet. Can you explain it a little more please?
Thanks Mark

I shall try. Firstly, I get all teh cool benefits you describe in your video. Great for creating studio lighting. I want to enhance HDR image lighting.

I load an object. Put in a floor. Make it a matt object. Load an HDR image in the Environtment and change the heading based on how I like it. Boom! Looks like this.

Activate HDR STudio. Clear the sample lighting. Click on the background Icon that lets me load an HDR for the lighting, rotate it the same as in my example. Boom! WTF?

Firstlly, you can see the HDR is now useless as a background, and blowing out the lighting.

I try to adjust the brightness down, but it does not show in the IPR until I do a reload. This is the closest I can get to what Octane was giving me on its own...

I try to adjust the lighting using the HDR Canvas Exposure, but again it doesn't change in IPR. If I do a reload, all the lighting goes.

Understan?

Boris, you need to disable HDRLS with the button "Disable". This button remove the plugin and the HDRLS scene data, so after click this button your scene is free again to use the environment input in the render target.

A gamma correction problem perhaps? ... I need to chech this issue because I think that I never load an HDRI background image in HDRLS. Do you know if using the native Lightwave renderer this problem is also there?
