Some of you may know Elisabeth Warfield, my favourite character. She finally has a complete body under her clothes, and so this summer she will probably be ready to spend some good time somewhere on a sea side.

I am working on some props and environments for these upcoming scenes, and Elisabeth will meet Squeaky the dolphin !

Modelled in Blender 2.69, rendered with Octane Inside Blender (version for Octane) with the plugin.

100 frames. Render time in 1920x1080 at 400 samples per pixel : 4 hours for 4 seconds !

Water made by a combination of the Ocean Modifier and Dynamic Painting (waves around the dolphin).
It is far from perfect, but each parameter tweaking requires a very long time to see the result, as it is impossible to evaluate the speed of waves on preview with 10 seconds between two frames.
The Ocean simulator is also difficult to control on a small surface : some parameters are sensitive at 0.01 or less !

I will test with a "real" fluid simulation, but I fear that the large domain required will not allow it. I have to check if I can limit the domain to a thin water layer.

I will also try with an other texture I drew today, because this one is too clear on the part under the dolphin, imho.
