Today I had little time to dedicate to some illumination tests: I found incredibly difficult to get realistic results with "large scene" (last two images)....I don't know which is the trick, if there is one, to reach the goal.
All images were rendered at double size, in diffuse mode except the third that was in AO mode, render time from 8 to 15 min (some images are quite noisy but my purpose was just to test some believable illumination).

Does anyone use some particular "approach" for illuminating large scene?

Cheers, Paolo

I think you should use PMC or PT to get photorealistic results

don't exaggerate with bumps

also the bokeh effect is extreme, a real camera can't reproduce it also with a F1 lens at that distance.

I like the gym models. Where you got it?

Hi Gabriele,
thanks for your puntualizations.
My main problem with large scale scenes is that I find quite difficult to give them a "correct/believable" illumination, I'm sure that even with PT or PMC the result wouldn't be too much different because probably my "approach" to the illumination is totally incorrect
As for the boken effect you mean that the "aperture" is set too high?, is it referred to a particular shot?...unfortunately my knowledge about the behaviour of a real camera it's only theorical

The gym models come from Technogym's ufficial site.

Ciao, Paolo
