I'm doing some experiments with snow. I'm not quite sure how to take it on, but I scattered 1,100,000 cylinder instances around the scene to create snow where there is nothing overhead. There are also some snow particles in the air. I made the snow material a little big glossy, but I think I might have to use SSS to get the best results.

I rendered the scene with the sky being transparent, then added a black background (for now) using GIMP.

Nice test out here! =) see Your tool is getting better & better =) just a quick question if You don't mind. if we want to scattere these particles can we choose a 3d form of the space where we want them to be populated? =)

Hey Glimpse, how it works is actually very simple: all you have to do is import your OBJ model and Phantom Scatter will automatically detect the boundaries. You can then set a margin around that boundary, and then it will start casting rays from the sky onto the model. It is possible to scatter along the path of the rays as well as the impact points (in the rain render you will see rain drops as well as rain impacts on the model)

I'm dropping the snow for now, I think it needs another type of approach ... but for the rain, I think it works awesome. :D

I actually like snow image =) just don't use those caps ontop of geometry - this should not come from scatter engine, or You can scatter that afterwords using different method - have two diff csv would be bit more flexible too. on the other hand it's easier to model or simply texture this out on object itself. pluss there are programs like snow flow that could be used if needed.
