LiveDB Management

I wondered about the LiveDB. Can anyone upload a material and then everybody sees it? Is it moderated? Is its structure fixed?

I wondered, because some things are somewhat illogical (stone is not an organic material) and because it has far less materials to chose from, than I'd expect with a community of this size, plus a few materials, which seem to be essentially the same, with just an RGB value changed etc (which I don't mind).

Essentially, I find the LiveDB wonderful .. maybe its controversial, but I find easy to use and apply material a great thing and would like to see this UI improved (the tree list is not ideal).
