Seeing as Radiance mentioned it was a priority some time back in 2012, predicting it's arrival before beta ended, I'm curious if there was any progress made into that direction?

I was just playing with caustics there and I've realised some things are just impossible to render even with 256K samples and ordinary pathtracing.

so...?

Regards,

Jani.

Seeing as no-one is seemingly interested in this, here's a little teaser of what we're missing:

Everyone is probably welcome at this feature but it might not be the most important on their list according to the poll if seems that a hair and fur feature is. I think they might be implementing all the features that customers really need now and then this feature will come later. I remember too that bi-directional pathtracing was a feature that radiance mentioned and that he said that is might possible in would be in post version 1 which would be before version 2 arrives. This might have changed though recently, not sure.

Yes... hair and fur is far more important, even if all the rest is in wireframe... :P

I hope Octane doesn't follow the advice of the majority of the user base, which have an age between 13 and 17 years old.
