Hi All,

This release hopefully fixes the render issues reported for 1.26.

There have been some issues with packages in version 1.26 and there may still be some more issues left. -> Please do not remove the original source files after you packaged them, just in case something goes wrong during the packaging.

EDIT: Ok, it seems packaging is even more broken now, so don't use the packaging yet. On Monday we will investigate the issue and why we didn't see it during during testing. Apologies for the hassle.

Changes since 1.26

Rendering
  • Fixed broken emitters.
  • Fixed incorrect rendering / crashes if incomplete render target nodes are specified at the beginning.
  • Fixed incorrect refraction of specular materials.
Scene and Geometry Import
  • Changed file extension of packages to .orbx.
  • Fixed incorrect loading of packages.
Lua Scripting
  • Added documentation for octane.gui.PROPS_PANEL_STACK.
  • Added component type octane.gui.componentType.TABS to set up tabbed panes.

Edit: yes I did, ok got it :)

hmmm not having much success here. Failed to load orbx. This is using Quadro fx570 as display and gtx 460 for cuda. Driver 307.32. First time I have tried this though so it might be me..

That doesn't look too great. Is that a liveDB material or a local macro you're trying to load?

I just opened then packed the screws scene locally, closed out and then tried to import it.
Then I tried the hallway scene, same issue each time.

hi,
about the .orbx:
i have successfully saved a diffuse material and a simple cube separately, then i have imported and connected each other and grouped. trying to save the node group in .orbx, octane crashes immediately.
p.s. the .ocp of 1.26 works smoothly ;)

Hi, I have not used standalone for a while as I have been using OcDs & Poser plus Blender intergrated mostly :P

Cant seem to get smooth to work in 1.26 or 1.27! I have smooth enabled.. Something I may have forgotten since being away from standalone version? :oops:

UPDATE: PS, I have brought in Genesis via Daz studio Alembic Exporter, SO happy to see animation in standalone version :D :D :D

UPDATE: Added screen capture of an OBJ of the same model which seems to load in just fine! Would the issue be with the Daz Exporter or within the 1.26 & 1.27 Builds?

More likely something is wrong with every single poly’s UV. Looks like every one is mirrored or flipped in place at least once. So, in this case smoothing in is not working. Someday I had such an issue with UVs, got to reexport entire set of models from DS with different export settings. I still have no idea what caused that UV flipping, DS export or Octane import.
Any thoughts on this please?

There is still an issue with process that causes Octane standalone to Freeze. If you load a scene that does not have a Render Target defined in the Graph Editor, select the Render target from the Node Inspector, right-click and choose option to Show in Outliner and Octane Freezes.
