I think the pose form the first one (the roundel is a little clearer) and the colour from the second (though somewhere around 3/4 of the way toward may be better?)

Sure
If you mean the target on the shell it is geometry with a standard glossy shader applied. (Cleaner that way )
The shell itself is the same with a low turbulence bump at high scale so it is barely visible : > )
