Hello guys, I'd like some advice:
I have to change the video card and I am torn between two models, a 2GB GTX460 and a gtx470.
In terms of performance which would you buy?
More memory (2GB vs 1.28 gb) or faster (460 vs 470)?
Thank you very much

I prefer memory and power consumption.

That depends entirely on your needs - mainly how much vram do you need for your work. If 1.2 GB is too tight for you, then there is no question.

Personally I would buy the 460, and save away the price difference for another 460 in the future.

So if I understand correctly, you prefer the GTX 460. more memory and less consumption...

Definitely a 460 2gb imho. You can handle more detailed scenes with its vram and that's always a good thing.

Other choice will be Tesla card, but it's expensive as we know ;)

You can buy 1 gtx460 2gb now and wait for next gpu update with, maybe, more vram on it.

i'd recommend 2x GTX460 2GB, that's the best option.

I have the Palit 460 2gb and I have never gotten over the 1gb mark, even with 5m polygons rendering at 4096x2048. However I don't use hi-res textures, is this the reason? Sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake getting the 2gb model...

I'd also recommend the 2GB 460.
