Too common a word to search in the forum search utility. So I thought I'd just ask...
Finally building my new kick-ass system and I'm faced with this choice - Windows 7 or 8. I'd like to know if there are Octane users on Windows 8 / 8.1 and if they would share their experiences - either good or bad.
Cheers,
Seeker
Any Windows 8 users out there

Hi Seeker, I have no problems with Windows 8 and Octane so far, only with Windows 8 as desktop system.
Update function never work for me and I disable it for month now.
My main system is Opensuse Linux but if I work with Windows on a daily base I would go back to Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the best they ever do.
Cheers, mib.

I am.
It's quite NOT the old way; much better. And if it's on an ssd drive, oh boy, real fast.
If all software were provided for Linux, I would use that. Macs are the only unix kernel that has achieved that, virtually.
z87, i7-4770K @ 3.5ghz 32gig ram; gtx Sucky + Gtx Titan; 128 x2 = data and os. Other drives for storage.
Want more Titans. Two more, to be exact. Working on it.

Guys,
Thanks fir the replies. I was expecting at least one "don't do it!!" post based on driver or compatibility issues.
So we're moving forward. 8.1 it is. I'll share any negatives pertaining to our typical workflow if they occur.
Best,
Seeker
