Hi,

Is there a way we can adjust the height of the hdr like we do in keyshot or bunkspeed? Scaling of the hdr is not so "easy to use in octane" like in keyshot or bunkspeed.

I want to increase the height but i don't know how.

Thanks in advance

I think the only thing you can do is rotate it in the y axis, which is probably not exactly what you want.

Yes, i tried, also playing with the scale. I just don't understand, it's an important feature no? How do other octane users do it?

Also the way it scales the hdri is kinda weard, it seems like it multiplies the hdri, instead of making the room bigger.

I'm confused.

Ps: Thanks for your reply kavorka :)

for scale, what it seems is there is a sphere it is applying the HDR to. when you scale, you are scaling the texture scale to that sphere, not the sphere itself.

I do scale and rotate the HDR until I get something I like though. there isnt a science to it, just gotta try different stuff.

The next version will have the ability to transform the environment sphere. So you can apply arbitrary rotations to the environment.

I am not sure by what you mean by scaling though. Making the environment sphere bigger won't make any difference. If you move it around or scale it non-uniformly it will warp the environment, i.e. stretch some parts and compress some other parts.

its not true for me ..

If I make a panoramic render of a 3d room with a 3d guy in the middle with a light on the ceiling to some extent it illuminate the 3d guy in a certain way, that is, according to the size of the light. If I re-use the same render as panoramic hdri, removing the room and illuminating only the 3d guy, octane will shed light on the ceiling of a larger size and not the exact size in proportion to the magnitude of the 3d guy.

An option to scale the size of the virtual sphere hdri would be very useful to simulate more correctly the hdri environment of small or relatively small.

2 option need:
infinity (like is today)
and size (with option size for little enviroment)
