I installed the Cuda Driver 5.0.61 to 5.5.28 (I thought it might need an older driver so I backtracked when the first one didn't work)
I installed the Cuda Toolkit 5.5.28
and Installed/placed the OctaneDemo 1.2 in the App folder.

When I launch the Octane Standalone it shows in RED "No CUDA GPUs" and in the prefs. under CUDA Devices it shows none in the list.
(Also when using the C4D plugin I only get a Black render, but one step at a time.)

Any thoughts on this, I'm not looking for a fast render just want to test this,
Next month we were looking at updating the the 2013 Mac Pro Trash cans, but this might change things. Thanks for any help.

I've just recently come across Octane and have become very interested in it.
I render ruffly 200 scenic event a year in Cinema 4D and if I could cut down on my post render time with this, it would be a life saver.
I've been trying to test it out with no luck so far. Unfortunately my work computer has one of the new Radeon 7950 that Sapphire came out with so I can't test Octane there, but My home Mac Pro has an 8800 GT in it, although not a very fast card, but will work for testing purposes.

Hi, the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT is to old and not supported from Octane.
IIRC Octane support cards with Cuda Capability 2.0 and higher.

Cheers, mib.

Well that explains that, I thought I was reading other Mac users using the 8800 GT.

rushes wrote:Hi! Im very interested in this render engine. The problem is that im using a mac pro 2 x quad intel xeon 2.8 ghz (from 2008), 4gb ram and geforce 8800gt 512 mb. Currently octane works, but a bit slow (im also a newbie so i dont control the app too much)...

I'll have to find another way to test out Octane. Thanks for the quick response.
