It would be interesting to these the Quadro cards compared against regular Geforce cards. I'll bet you'll find the 780 or Titan will beat the Quadro(or be close) and it costs way less.

Quadro and Tesla cards are in all cases slower than GeForce cards with Octane. The GTX Titan and GTX 780 Ti are currently the fastest cards you can find, and the 780 Ti is even slightly faster than the Titan in Octane: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gef ... 63-14.html

Btw, Nvidia will release a 780 Ti with 12 GB soon, this will be a very attractive card for VFX studios wanting to switch to GPU rendering: http://www.eteknix.com/nvidia-announces ... hics-card/

Hmmm 12 gb, I guess that will double the price. $1400? Still if you have a need for it that's gotta be way cheaper than Tesla. You are going to need 64 gb sys ram for it to load Octane scenes though.
