Hey everyone,

I just got started with octane but somehow I can´t figure out how to light my interior scenes properly. When I try to render interiors containing light emitting objects, the render just comes out plain without any lighting at all. Only thing I seem to get to work is the daylight function of octane... I´m sure this is a newbie question and the answer´s pretty straightforward....looking forward to your advice!

if i understand you correctly:

the plugin doesn't convert daz lights - by intention. lighting in octane works pretty different; apart from the sun/hdri environment you can only have "real" objects (meshes) that emit light; no abstract point/distant/whatever light sources. means you need to take any object in the scene (or add primitives like planes or spheres), and make them emitting light by editing the material (needs to be a diffuse type).

how this works can be seen in this video http://vimeo.com/60253899 - about a minute in...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

Oh I´ve been looking for something like that, thanks a lot!

I´ve tried various things now and somehow my lighting source always looks like this:

Any idea what I´m doing wrong?

can you show us a close-up of the part with the emitters - as screenshot from the daz viewport? is not easy to judge from the rendering alone...
