License for 2014

Sorry if this is a silly question.

I am going to need to upgrade my standalone license with a plugin so I can animate out of either 3DSMax or Modo (or Blender, not sure yet). Will I have to re-purchase the license for future versions of these packages? For example: will Max2013 license work for later versions of Max?

Just need an explicit confirmation.

You can use 2013 plugin for 2014.
