Hi

There is not a 1-to-1 correlation between Poser and Octane materials. Instead the plugin converts Poser materials to Octane materials according to a set of rules (which I think are listed in the manual). For most materials, this conversion will bring across all info, but for some Poser materials, the node structure will be such that the plugin will only bring across a subset of the info, so for these materials you will want to adjust the Octane material to get the right look in your render. This is generally very quick and easy to do, but requires some knowledge of Octane.

Specific to your question.....

If ambient_value is > 1, then the material will be converted to an Octane diffuse emitter, otherwise the ambient is ignored.

From memory, alternate diffuse will be converted to the Octane diffuse IF there is no normal diffuse (ie. the top diffuse in the Poser material takes precedence over alternate diffuse.
