IES Orientation Issue
Moderators: ChrisHekman, aoktar
I'm trying to setup an IES Light. Now it should shine in the local Z-Direction of the Area Light, right? When I rotate it around local X it behaves like expected, but when I rotate around local Y, it does weird things. It also does weird things when I rotate around local Z, which shouldn't do anything, right? Also, the orientation settings inside the tag seem to be connected to the light object itself, but they also keep doing weird things. Is this a bug? Thanks.

PS: 0.72b, as everything newer is less stable so far.

Are sou saying it's a known bug?
Right now it's impossible to position IES lights?
Is there a workaround I could use?
Thanks!

Hi,
I had also problems to rotate IES lights. My solution is to create a polygon, orient its surface to the direction I want to be lit and apply a material with a texture emission. Then I was able to rotate the IES in the material editor and not in the tag (which indeed seems to have a bug).
