Would it be possible to give us the ability to decide how much of our gpu power we want to allocate to octane so we can navigate easier through other programs while rendering ?

I dont think this is possible.
The best stategy is to use a second gpu for display and dedicate your 260 to Octane.
If you dont have an old card to re-use consider buying an el cheapo GeForce210 or GT220. ~ US$50-70.
These are single slot and dont draw much power.

Hi,

CUDA does'nt allow anything like this,
i've already checked with nvidia.

the 2nd GPU option as pixelrush said resolves the problem completely.
Also, use the subsampling options to make it a bit more responsive...
