Hi

I have a texture I need to move a litte.

How do I do that? is it done in 3ds design eg. UVW mapping?
or via octane?

The file is a Revit file that is linked into 3ds design, but I don't think I can adjust the texture in Revit.

Anyone?

Thanks :-)

I don't know what you have to do but if its just sliding texture across one of the world axes, you can do it in octane via a transform node linked to position.

if you need to edit UV, you must do it in a modeling software...

Hi ludovicRouy

I'll have to see how I add a transform node in 3ds design.

Thanks :-)

Hi ludovicRouy

I don't se the Position node in 3d max :-(

I guess it's very easy - but I really have a issue here :-(

It seems that using select object>modify>add UVW Map>has no effect on the material

But I'm a noob in 3ds design/max

To move your UV's in Max try to move the gizmo of your UV map modifier.

I kind of remember that there was an Octane transformation map in Max plugin too (and I already wrote an unpolite response to you about reading the manual 8-) ) but while I'm looking at it now, I cant find the transform map anymore.

[edit]
It turns out you can only use it with Octane procedurals. So no transform for images. Seems like your only option is to move the UV gizmo.

Hi suvaks

I was looking in the manual, but the manual seems quite outdated.

So, as I understand it/you, in 3ds design, I have to:

select the object
add a UVW MAP modifier and adjust the gismo?

I have tried that, moved the gismo up/down/left/right - but nothing happens :-/

But if it's the way to go, I'll just need to work with it.

Make sure you're not using different map channels for your texture and UV modifier.
If your image is on channel 2 and you're moving the gizmo on channel 1, then nothing will happen.

Hmm..wait..there are no channels when using Octane image.

hmm, sounds like you need the UVW XFORM modifier, try that and play with the offsets?

Indeed. That would be much better tool than moving the gizmo. I always forget that it exists.
