Hello,
I'm trying to create stereographic content for Oculus Rift viewing. I've tried the Magenta-Green option, but would also like to render two separate images for Left and Right eye.
How can this be achieved with Octane?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Mark

Hi, You can create two cameras with appropriate shift like in the real world. Il may be tedious for animation, but should work fine for still pictures.
French Blender user - CPU : intel Quad QX9650 at 3GHz - 8GB of RAM - Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. Display GPU : GeForce GTX 480 (2 Samsung 2443BW-1920x1600 monitors). External GPUs : two EVGA GTX 580 3GB in a Cubix GPU-Xpander Pro 2. NVidia Driver : 368.22.
This will be much easier to set up in the next release.

Ok! Thanks for the info and tips.
Definitely want something suitable for producing animations, separate or stitched images for each eye, such as side by side 3D.
With programs like VRCinema @ http://www.uxground.com/ you don't have to worry about proper Oculus distortion unless you want to use a more direct video player instead of a big virtual theater.

Just for the fun, we hooked up the rift in Octane some time ago and it was quite cool. We still have lots of things to do but we can dust off the old code if we have some time. We just can't promise when.
We couldn't ship it back then because the Rift was only supported on Windows.
Cheers,
Thomas
