Hello, i have just purchased octane render and daz studio, i'm very new to it. But as far as i understand plugin's do not export nodes. If i could export complete scenes as ocm files from plugins (For example building from archicad, scattered vegetation from 3dsmax and people from Daz3D) and use them in stand-alone octane renderer that would be great. This way Octane would dominate the market because there is no plugin or render with this functionality.

+1
Yes, octane could be better.
That could be done ! (ie for DAZ : the option of "final render" is to gather all objects and material as "one light" object for faster rendering (t_3, could you confirm ?).
As I have also 3dsmax plugin, this could be great.
Today, I mostly use DAZ plugin, and let the standalone useless.
I think this feature is requested several times somewhere in the forum.
It's more a restriction from OTOY than a technical issue.
Perhaps in version 2.x (Possibly a paid upgrade) ?

I definitely think the ability to share Octane material definitions between the plugins would be great. However the concept of building one scene from multiple scene Octane plugin exports in Octane Standalone as you have described is probably not as simple as it sounds (just think of the problems getting the scales the same and matching the positions). It is much easier to use something like ArchiCAD (or any of the other host apps) to combine your scene. For example, the ArchiCAD plugin will generate the scatter instance file for you (based on an ArchiCAD topography), and then you can load external OBJ's (ie. trees) as the scatter objects. You can also load posed people OBJ's from Poser or DazStudio as proxies for very simple ArchiCAD geometry and render them in Octane inside ArchiCAD. IMO this workflow is much quicker then it would be exporting from the different sources and merging them all in Octane Standalone.

I wouldnt care where i combine the scene, as long as i can combine them somewhere. But exporting from plugins would come handy. For ex. You can export it from one computer and just render on another with stand alone.

You can export it from one computer and just render on another with stand alone.
If you did this, you would need all the texturemaps in the same folders as the source PC, which may take some effort.

How the lost textures handled in Octane, now. Since i'm a new user i dont know. If it asks for lost textures. Collecting textures in 3dsmax or Daz3d is not so hard.

Look at the presentation at Siggraph. If I understand correctly, Alembic support will allow fully transfering from plugins to standalone or other plugins.

Yes, this is going to be interesting. I already combine Modo,Sketchup and Poser obj's but it isn't easy.
