Split all edges around windows and hard corners. The smoothing is trying to smooth your 2 poly walls.

Look for geometry approximation and change the discontinuity to "0" [ its the angle between normals ] - on which smoothing is based - change the values there and then export....)

For the plant check if your normals is facing the camera...
Im Softimage user, but You can find similar things in 3dmax
move your whole scene and center it in the 0,0 point, there is a well known error in 3dmax regarding closeness to zero point, re-export your obj file and see it it's fixed. Also check your units, they should be in meters, or change your import preferences in octane accordingly.
Check the export options here http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=21&t=362 and if you are using the plugin be sure to at least once launch the inbuilt max exporter and set the obj exporting options to "none" prior to using the plugin.

is the same case using the plugin to export or no he same result, i think so could be the plugin becouse i been download from the forum the version script max2octane2008.ms and ui folder Open max2octane.mcr
may is the version 2008 in this plugin i use 2009
it just need one more edge on the walls near the windows and corners......... but you can scale , rotate whatever you want................ its not gonna work.
