Hi All,
Anyone else have issues with models with polygon selection tags pop crashing Octane and C4D? Or is it just me?

Is it reproductible?
1-Did you try several objects?
2-What is your exact steps to do this?
3-which version plugin and c4d?
did you try last version?

if you let me i like to see your scene!!!

sure thing here's a random example scene.
I merged the model into a C4D scene. Then converted the materials (without much success actually they all convert to the plain materials you see in the scene) and when I open Octane there is a pop crash of both C4D and Octane.
If I delete the tags and apply the materials straight onto the geometry all seems fine again.
I'm new to this so probably doing something wrong

Hi, i have checked but this is too simple to give crash. I'll try similar workflow to see if there is a bug. Be sure you don't made some thing wrong.pokeit wrote:sure thing here's a random example scene.

Material converter needs some extra work. It's working in simple way for complex materials need to improve.
For offer on other thread about demoing of Octane: I like to help you but i'm not near

It's very odd- I've just updated to 0.6.9b SDK1.18 and this scene still crashes out. weird.
I also get a strange thing with my GPU's on certain scenes- I have GPU meters for both my GPUs and in some scenes only one GPU appears to be working when I'm not navigating the scene (when it's rendering) but springs into life (According to the GPU meter) when I'm moving through a scene. DOes this ring any bells? Maybe it's the GPU meter giving crap reading?
I'll post and see if there are any London users with a d=fast rig willing to demo the BBC.
Cheers!
