well, there are only 139mb available for octane - it looks like it isn't possible to acquire enough vram to load the basic data.
apart from that, i even can't say if the current octane version fully supports this chipset any longer (it is a pre-fermi chip from the range of 9xxx cards) - need to check that with octane devs...

ok - thanks for the info. the card was working until the latest update. not sure why there is only 137 mb (or whatever it was) available when the card is 500mb.
cheers anyway

if it worked with the last version (at least with direct lighting) it should work with this version too.synapsemedia wrote:ok - thanks for the info. the card was working until the latest update. not sure why there is only 137 mb (or whatever it was) available when the card is 500mb.

why there is that low on vram available is hard to tell; windows needs vram, of course ds needs some itself (maybe even other progs or background apps may utilize gpu resources), also the render film needs some extra vram (i.e. 20mb for 1000x1000 pixels), plus geometry (and textures of course).
you may use msi afterburner or gpu shark (or something the like) to see how vram gets eaten up by apps as soon they start (or in ds if a scene is loaded)...
