Unfortunately it's not the wrong scale, i've been double checking my scale and i used to get the same radial lines in some glossy materials. now it's gone, i don't remember how. first i installed the latest nvidia drivers, then i started playing around with pre-2.3 so it was forgotten, but i can say i've seen it too, if i catch it again i'll post a screen here.

I've seen it in several cases, first, as said, wrong scale at export, secondly, wrongly applied uvmaps, and the more strange one if exporting from 3dmax a model too far off from the 0,0 point. This last case is easy to solve, just move your whole mesh to the zero point and re-export.

I changed the scale to millimetres in octane before importing and much improved results.
I can now assign materials and add lanscaping.

Thank you all very much for your assistance
