Is possible make clay render or only one material render? In the standalone version I know yes but is posible with the archicad plugin?
Maxwell has a feature that change all the material in the scene with one, or all opaque material with one... I think that it can be interesting to make render like maquetes...

Loading the Octane scene so all geometry using just one material would be relatively easy to implement. I will add it to the "medium-term" list.

Hi Paul,
And after having loaded the scene with just one material... Will it then be possible to select material(s) and change a few.
I.e. Useful for making the maquette, but change the material of the 'real' table where the maquette is on
And i.e. change the glass material of the maquette.
I can imagine more examples to having this option being usefull.
Would be nice

Maybe. It's easy to add an option to "Copy this material to all other materials". You could then "Reconvert from ArchiCAD" any materials you want to be as they were. But it is more difficult to have is to NOT save this to the pln file (since I doubt you would want to loose all your Octane materials for a scene). Maybe once you have "Copy this material to all other materials" - you would not be able to save the scene. I will need to think about it.

Hi Paul,
I think save would be better, therefor you can have two files if needed.. Save one for clay B.pln and one for normal materials A.pln
When save the B.pln file it makes possible to also tweak a few materials after copied material to all materials ( for instance the table under the maquette and the glass and roof of the maquette.

Does this workflow work for updating both A.pln and B.pln:
After working at some changes in A.pln Have both pln's open at te same time and copy all from A and paste it to B after having deleted things first. The materials in B will be the maquette look again. The only thing you have to notice are new materials from A,
But probably they will be obvious to see in B.
Another, maybe better, option for changing two pln's would be working with a module.file for both pln scenes.

Maybe anyone has another idea of workin at two pln's regarding different materials in plugin.

Greetings, Jeroen

I love these kind of renders because they render FAST + they have great power of presentation. It simply makes you smile when you see dirty industry building rendered in cardboard material :)

+1 for this one

I think initially, the simplest solution is a material tab option "Copy this material to all materials". It means the Octane Viewport will still contain geometry that is connected to all the separate materials - but all materials would be the same. Then if you want to change the material, you can do so in the Materials tab of the plugin, and then redo "Copy this material to all materials".

This solution works well if you link to the original file as a Module. The original/master file contains the "real" materials, and the version that contains the link can be used for the clay type settings.

[EDIT: How do you want to handle emitters? You don't want to replace your main lighting material emitter, since then the scene will not be illuminated. Or are you happen to replace and have the scene lit be IBL/daylight?]

imo, after "Copy this material to all materials" having the possibility to change individual materials by picking them will do it.
This way yo can change a material to emitter and also change a few other materials if wanted.

Coping the material to all proxy materials is going to be problematic to implement. Is it required, or not needed?
