frankly infinito always gave me issues, and I'm not talking about with Octane. Always very buggy for me. So it's one of the plugins I have and never even consider anymore.

I tried using infinito created environments with the standalone back in the day though. The issue is how much VRAM the scene will take up. It's easy with infinito to have a ton of geometry and textures in the scene quickly.

But I don't see why in theory you couldn't use it. It just adds a bunch of props to the scene. The challenge would be how many objects you throw down, I think that could get really nasty if not monitored..

Depending on how infinito and Octane get along, it may be better to make the scene with infinito while the Octane render plugin is off. ANd then after done building load up the plugin. But I haven't tried myself.

I do know that the other plugin by AM doesn't work with Octane Render. ANytime I launch LAMH it crashes. (so maybe infinito has same issue) LAMH is buggy too, but it crashes everytime it is launched if you have Octane Render plugin running. (i think I was using LAMH 1.01) the Girbaldi hair plugin doesn't have the same problem.

hey lars

thanks for the response. I bought infinito a few days ago and it seems to work pretty well for me (on my laptop) a bit slow but I am guessing that has more to do with the cpu than the software. doesn't crash much. I am also trying to install it on my desktop and there I am indeed having problems with registering the software. everytime I register the software hangs. I think I need to contact the software author about this.

I haven't tried LAMH at all. no need for it yet. does LAMH support physics? does the hair move and sway when the object is animated?

cheers

infinito doesn't support instancing, and I don't think it ever got updated to support daz instancing. I think that it was going to, but is being held out for infinito 2.

Infinito can create normal maps for terrain, but it never worked for me when I tried. infinito doesn't have to deal with displacement since you are still rendering in DS, and DS handles it.

Infinito dumps all the objects into a DS scene, so there really isn't anything for infinito to do once the scene is put together. Infinito just helps you create a landcape and dump props on it. But once you send it to DS then infinito is out of play and doesn't interact with the scene anymore.

So, what is the solution to create terrains that can be applied in DAZ Studio and can render with OC for DAZ Studio (plugin)?

An additional question: how can I change my signature below?
Intel Core i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30Ghz (Quad Core), 12.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 620. Windows 7 (64 bits)
