Hi all,

As promised here comes version 0.09. It has been a while since the last version, because I didn't have much time to work on the exporter plugin. The main changes are a new GUI layout with a fancy banner and a close button (hi Mac users ;) ). I have also added a new command plugin that allows you to export the scene and launch the Octane renderer without opening the export dialog.

For Macs I have changed the way Octane is launched - now it should detect the opened Octane application more reliably. Now animation rendering should also happen in the background, if you are using a Mac. (I don't know how to keep Octane from grabbing the focus on Windows.)

Internally I did some major restructuring - I hope I didn't break anything. Please let me know, if I introduced any bugs or problems.

EDIT: Unfortunately project names with strings are not cleaned up correctly anymore. I just found out and will fix this tonight and release a small bugfix update. Until then please don't use spaces in project names.

These are the PC builds of the plugin:

CINEMA 4D R9.6 (32/64bit):
OctaneExport_0.09_win_r9.6_release.zip
(187.88 KiB) Downloaded 339 times

CINEMA 4D R11.5 (32/64bit):

Marcus

That's a great looking exporter.

How do we set the material in c4d so it has texture emission turned on in octane?

I don't know yet how those new things will be integrated into the export workflow. -> For now you have to create a material for emitter objects and then modify the material in Octane to make it emit light.

Cheers,

Can someone explain how I can retain my existing lightning from C4D? as well as existing materials or do these have to be recreated in Octane?

I'm using C4D 11.008 on a mac.

thanks

p.s. I've taken a look at the Maya exporter video and there is no indication of this other than the use of daylight.

Hello,
It's a great work for this exporter thanks :)
I'm a little pb : when i want export and render my project, the textures are not in Octane Render. Do you know why it don't work ? Have you got a solution about this ?

Thanks again for this job ^^
