Hey guys, so for some reason, the latest versions of octane will run on my desktop but when launched, nothing is visible , i had to downgrade to a version off 2011 that ran nicely on there, specs of the desktop are:

windows 7 ultimate 64bit
core i7 3930k
evga gtx 460 2gb
16 gb ram

so i dont quite know why the latest versions are not running on there, but when I take the 2011 version and the same setup max2octane etc, on my laptop

specs:

Alienware mx13 r4
ssd
12 gb ram,
nvidia Gefore GT 650m

I have 3dsmax up and running , vray , realflow, cuda drivers, everythings seems to be working except octane on this laptop, by not working
I mean, it'll load, but the render viewport is just grey? and when i double click an element / material, itll crash.. any help would be appreciated! thanks!

Same here with a macbook pro retina with the same graphic card.
Bootcamp and osx...3dsmax octane works flawlessly...it's standalon that have issues.

Do you mean nothing, like not even a splash screen? Or does the main window show up and you have no rendered image? Is your NVIDIA display driver up to date?

Your GPU is too recent for the old Octane Render version.
What does it do exactly when you try to launch the latest version ?
Did you try 1.13 ?

I like it that much that I don't ever use standalone version anymore. It is awesome working inside max and the workflow with octane is perfect and fast.

All my drivers are up-to-date. I even cannot select a render node. I can zoom and pan and create things in the node editor, but cannot activate the render.
