A simple emitter in the background and a HDRI to fill the scene, some Octane bloom to give it a bit of mood, then into photoshop a little level adjustment and that´s all.

How long did you run it for? there is still a decent amount of graininess. Might want to let it cook longer

This looks superb. Think if a normo saw it in a magazine, they would just assume it was a photograph.

The image is like 1000 samples or so, maybe a little more. It took about 10 minutes, there is still some noise in the background, but the focal point of the image looked ok for me, so I stopped at that point.

Gordonrobb.. what is a normo?

As your usual a great job Paquito
How did you set up the glossiness of the parquet? I usually find lot difficulties in producing a good effect in floors (sometimes seems that the glossiness map produce too weak effects and I don't know how to straighten them)

I simply use a black&white version of the texture as a specular map. One thing I notice is the index value is non zero when importing an obj file into Octane, so I lower it to zero to get more natural reflections. Maybe is that your problem.
