I had the previous version of modo - octane 1.04 installed and therefore had established paths to oct.exe etc.. I could not duplicate this fault. I also removed the path to the binary and tried to browse, was not probs.. it found where octane.exe was and loaded the path.
I have had issues in "c:\..Users.." when I didn't set very specific permissions to allow access to write and read for the opsys. Maybe check those? I'm using Win7 HPrem 64bit.

tried with two procedural models, and one heavily textured model (naturally exports only rgb shaded in Oct) works a treat!! The exported file is fine in Octane whilst modo is up and loading the generated ocs file into octane "standalone" works fine!

When you get an error, alway go to the event log and give me the details. The event log can be found:
System > Advanced > Event Log

But, i think i can guess what the problem is. Make sure you've replaced the config (fs_OctaneExporter_GUI.CFG) with the new file. I've add a new variable to this file and i think that's what causing your error. EDIT: Also after you've installed the update, make sure to reboot modo. Or import the new config. (file > import config)
Also make sure that you're having this folder [fs_modoModules] in you scripts folder.

I deleted a folder from v1.04 (_modules) that I probably needed?
But is this a problem if someone is going to try the script for the first time with v1.05, just some thoughts?

the temp scene is created only at the first rendered frame, your memory issue is due to a modo bug, where modo can't dump the memory during script execution.
how much are you animating, only the camera? if the camera or light is the only thing animated, then activate the 'walkthrough mode' found in the misc tab and modo will use less memory. (check the how_to_use.pdf for issues like this)

hi i need export full scene, i have animation assembly rack and i need full scene geometry, no camera or light. But export overflow full memory, i try set virtual memory on 30 GB, but dont effect, I try modo 401 sp4 and sp5 but no effect. I need solve this problem. Thx
