BUG FIXES SINCE LAST RELEASE:
  • crash with mesh updating
  • crash with material with dirt texture preview
  • hot pixels in case of alpha shadows + environment importance sampling
This version requires video driver 301.42 or higher.

Limitations on old cards
The PMC kernel and the matte material options don't work on old graphics cards (GTX 2xx, compute model < 2.0).

Thank you for this very quick update.
And I want to ask a question ; any chance to use max' standart output map in future updates? Especially working with HDR images I really need it. I posted some example images what can an output map do without using photoshop for tweaking HDR images;

@Karba did you consider implementing Vertex Color ? it is very useful for vegetation.

Here is a nice article about this, since textures are a problem, this is a good solution. http://bertrand-benoit.com/blog/2012/10 ... tone-tree/

Working for 3 hours now. Did some tests. Not one crash and everything works as it should as far as i saw!

Great Work Karba!

The only thing i found out is, that if you have the material editor box open, the whole interface is completely slowing down. I really do not know if thats a 1.11b or a octane itself problem, but it is anyway not a big deal. As soon as i close the Material Editor its fast and responsive again!

Thanks Karba!

I´m afraid that I´m experiencing the same crashes as before with 1.11a. Randomly, when I´m reloading the scene in Octane´s viewport 3Dsmax crashes, and my scene is lost :cry: . I´m testing with two different scenes, in the first one I´m using DIRT texture, but in the second I don´t. Max is crashing in both of them. So I suppose that it has nothing to be with DIRT.

Hope this info will be useful for devs. Thank you very much for your effort.
