Just testing the demo on my gtx 580,
decent card it was but I feel now that it's
little to slow for octane.
Is standalone render any faster than maya plugin?
Didn't have much luck with hdri, I guess that importance
sampling is not in the demo, or in maya for now,
or maybe its just me.
Colour depth that octane renders is unsurpassed,
really beautiful.
Is it possible to map octane light? ramp or image?
Should I just use poly emitter, is it much slower than
native light?
This is a really dirty and quick setup, basic materials,
converted from maya materials.

Render speed depends on many factors - so it may be possible to speed up your render with different lighting, etc. The plugins render at the same speed as Standalone.decent card it was but I feel now that it's

Importance Sampling was introduced after the Octane version in the Demo version.Didn't have much luck with hdri, I guess that importance
sampling is not in the demo, or in maya for now,
or maybe its just me.
