Nice. Your slices of ham seem to be cut with a laser, thouh ! ;)

The bread crust is a bit too glossy too imho...

Really nice picture... however, I think there is no way to make it look real without displacement...

sculpt it & export as mesh from something like Zbrush =)

looks good - the crust on the bread is a bit too orange for me imo.
I think from this close up you would have to sculpt the bread - or use displacement when it comes to Octane.
