Used is great!!.. Both of my GTX460's were around $100us each... 672 Fermi cores for around $200 is pretty wonderful.
Can you find some better deals on craigslist in Italy?.. and of course there is eBay.. and used GPU's on Amazon.
220 euros ($300) is kind of high for a GTX570.. there are plenty (1.25GB) on eBay that sell for around $200...

I have a used 470 I've been using for over a year (with Octane) and hasn't had any problems.
If you buy used, I don't think the warranty carries over to you though. This is kinda a big deal as the cards have a lifetime warranty and if they stop working for any reason, the company (I have 2 PNY 580s) will replace them for free free (as long as you didn't do something stupid to break it).
So, If you are getting a cheaper card like that, maybe not a big deal, cause even if it breaks in a year or 2, you arnt losing that much, but having a $1k card like a 690 break and not have warranty would suck.
In short, I think "cheaper" cards are ok to get used but I wouldn't get expensive cards used.

I agree... Only do used cards if you are on a budget (not a lot of money). If it is critical, buy new!
I'm fortunate to have money that I could easily go to BestBuy and get a new 680 today if one of these died...
I am just a cheap b*stard and always try to save a buck when possible.. and I am finding that even with only
two 460's, I am rendering tons better and lightyears faster than using Lightwave and CPU's ever could... so
I am completely thrilled.. but yeah, even I will be doing 4 GTX 680's (or similar) before too long...
