enviroment maps it's the other way of adding light to your scenes atm, instead of using the daylight system to lighten your scene you use an HDRI map to do so. It's quite different result, better to check it out by yourself.
Just in case you got none laying around check the free resources forum, or the "starters pack" with the demosuite where there is some studio setups, allthou in your case you should use some outdoors shots.
