Would it be possible to save only the materials/textures

If you do not want us to publish your art, please mention it in your post clearly. (put a very red small diagonal cross in the left right corner of the image)
Any images already published on the gallery will be removed if the original author asks us to do so.

Then aply it to a new scene where you have only moved objects around? This would save me a ton of time setting up materials and textures for multiple scenes using the same objects.

I do this a lot.
I'm not sure what exporter you are using, bbut I just save the scene as a new file, then point the exporter to that new file and export it. It keeps everything but swaps the .obj

another option would be just to export the .obj and have the mesh node point to the new .obj
