hi there i am buidling a rig for some freelance work (maily cg/arch vis/product static renders)
what is the ideal setup for octane ,
i am looking at
i7 930 (will overclock to death)
12gb ram
480 or 470 not sure which as yet (anyone care to tell me the difference i can expect)
i have a 30" monitor already so dont need to factor that in the price
please list spec of machine if you had £1500 to splash what you would buy ??
i definatley want a haf 932 as i love that case

if i were you i'd get a motherboard with 2 PCI-E slots, buy a cheaper GPU for your display (and connect your monitor to it), something like a GTX465 or GTX260, or anything you can get your hands on that's nvidia cuda capable.
This will be your display card.
Use the GTX480 as you're 2nd GPU in your secondary PCI-E slot, so you can use that for octane and render while you can comfortably use your PC for other 3d / modeling work on your display GPU.
