Ok, I really need to figure out how to use fresnel in Octane. Lets say I make a simple "specular" shader. Can some one explain how to control fresnel?

The new 'Index' parameter at the bottom of the material is the fresnel index. A higher value will give you a more metallic and shiny look. If you are making a metal/chrome object you should put it at 0 to turn it off (which is what metals do).
