I posted this in the 3ds max subforum but didn't get a response so I'm asking again here: Is there a way to add a spot or some other additional light to what the 3ds max plugin defaults to as scene lights?

If not, does anyone know how I could I recreate the default lighting setup from scratch?

I basically need one or two spots added to the lighting that occurs when you render an image without a light source in the scene but for contiguity, need to retain the default scene lighting as well.

Thanks for any help!

I just plop an Octane Daylight down when I start a scene. It may not be your ideal solution but it's a good one that works

One more workaround would be to save a custom startup max scene with your custom light setup for Octane (with Octane emitters).
That way every time Max starts or you create a new scene your light setup would be present.
