Please see if this is a decent system for Octane:

Intel Core i7-3930K up to 3.8GHz (6 Core) Processor
Intel Extreme Series DX79SI Motherboard - 3 Way Sli Core i7
Kingston 32GB HyperX 1600Mhz DDR3 Memory -ECC - Unbuffered - 240-pin DIMM
TWO Asus Video Cards GTX680 - 2GB DDR5 256Bit
OCZ 256 GB Agility 4 2.5" SATA3 6GB/s SSD
1000W PowerSupply
Microsoft Windows 8 Professional

If i get one GTX 690 (4GB) and one GTX 480(for display) Is this option going to work better than having Two GTX680 (2GB each) cards?

Thanks Guys
Windows 7 Pro, i7 4770, 16 GB Ram, 1TB SSD, Asus GTX780Ti 3GB

hi there,

690 scales almost perfectly compared to 680 =) it makes sence to buy one 690 as it acupies just double slot space & only one pcie cenection. that would leave You a bit more space for future upgrade. but if were You I 'd probably take a 4gb version of 680 instead of 2gb as when You put Octane to work the scene must fit in vRAM of each card.

cheers

670 4gb are the best deal.
i7 2600, 16 GB RAM, 2x Evga 670 SC 4gb, dual boot win7/osxML, 2 SSDs, 3 HDs.
