Octane renders a dark line on the outside of a bottle when I do a turntable rendering in Full HD (not every frame).
I know that this happens often when there is a cylindrical object and the tesselation is not fine, but in this case the mesh is high res.
The flickering of this line created the need for a lot of post work.
Playing with rayEpsilon didn't improve the result...
This is not a new phenomenon but it is very important to solve this otherwise it is not very useful for animation.
Any information if this can be tackled somehow?
...unfortunately I can only show a crop...

Have you tried turning smoothing on (or off)?

unfortunately smoothing on or off doesn't make a difference
What about ray bounces? it might be getting trapped in a refraction/reflection loop at an extreme angle like that.

In many cases the diffuse material doesn't has this problem, butt glossy and spec has.
This only happens on very close shots (or high resolution) near the cylindrical object on some view angles.
