I did a bunch of corrections, adjusted the overall face proportions and completely remade the skin shader.
And now, powered by more beard! :)
The new Octane sky is really nice!

I hope you like it!

I did make the lenses, but I wanted them to be completely transparent, and for some reason Octane produced a lot of fireflies in the reflected light, basically it was exactly like the above image, plus the fireflies, so I just removed them.

Very realistic model and render. He has a bit the look of Ton Roosendaal (Blender Institute chairman ) !

Eyes should reflect anything. Could be much better looking with reflections in/on the eyes. But its just small detail, the work is really impressive overall.

as far as the eye, you could just do a quick Photoshop job, add a white spec to show the reflection of your light source, make the eye look more "wet".

For the glasses, did you try to turn up caustic blur in the kernel panel?
Also, since fireflys are always 1 pixel, try rendering at a much higher resolution and then shrinking it down, will remove most fireflys. And if you are not right now, rendering in PMC will reduce fireflys.

Other than that, awesome job. Looks just like him and is a very convincing rendering. I'm sure a lot of people would think it was a photo.
