Hi all,
We've set up a new linux build environment using ubuntu for our releases.
Here is a release of version 2.2b built on the new build environment, we'd appreciate if linux users can let us know if it works ok or not.
http://www.refractivesoftware.com/custo ... ubuntu.tgz (29MB)
We'd be interested to know if this release works on all customers' linux platforms, if it does we will be using this build environment for all our future releases.
The linking etc is identical so all rules w/r to installation and dependencies stay the same as with previous linux releases.
If you have a problem, please try to be as descriptive as possible and give us enough information,
including your OS / distro name/version and a possible screenshot or terminal output/error.
Thanks for your time and help,
Radiance

Works like a charm
Since i recently reinstalled crunchbang linux, i had to get a few packages, think it was libglew and libcuda.
Running fine here on Debian Squeeze with the latest nvidia dev drivers, and the 3.1 cuda toolkit.
Looks like you have made an amazing job once again. Will be interesting to hear how it works on gentoo, mandriva, suse, fedora etc.
Best Wishes,
Mark

cool to know it's running fine. Indeed, on our test machine it ran fine with the latest drivers and cuda 3.01 but we didn't want people to run for that and break their system

Thanks guys, we're still interested in hearing from other linux users on other platforms if everything is ok.
So if you have a bit of time and you're a linux user, give this one a spin

Hi Radiance,
I just tried this version out on Fedora 12 and it appears to be working fine. I didn't do an in-depth test, just loaded the benchmark test and poked around a bit.

maybe with a command line automatically exit, and then you can use the 'time octane <arguments>' to measure it.
i'd be interested in finding out if it is faster or not
