I was just wondering how the octane 3ds max and stand alone licenses work. Are they linked to a max license or are they hardware based? I have two workstations both with two versions of max (for 3rd party compatibility reasons). One machine is the the dedicated gpu render box while other serves the real workstation. I'd like to be able to use octane standalone+max license on both since there would only ever be one octane instance in use (once a job is sent to the render node, octane would only be used for rendering on that machine). Is this possible?

Thanks for any info

They are hardware based. If you want to use Octane on two machines at the same time you need two licenses. You can transfer the license between computers but there is a delay between deactivating on one computer and activating on the other. I think in your case it's easier to have separate licenses for the two computers.
